Type Locality and Naming

Along the Azkamar Plateau, South-Western Uzbekistan. G.F. Tetukhin, M.M. Ivanitsin 195lr (127, p.22). Stratotype - Azkamar Plateau. Upper terraces and corresponding alluvial cones.

Synonym: Azkamar Complex, Азкамарский компл.


Lithology and Thickness

Rubble-sandy deposits, gravelites, breccias with compacted loess-like rocks (shohi), with lenses of sand and gravelite. Thickness 200-800m.


Lithology Pattern: 
Aus Conglomerate


Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Unconformably overlies the Tashakyr Fm.

Upper contact

The Karnab Gr (complex) is embedded in it.

Regional extent

Basins of the Kashkadarya and Zarafshan rivers, Zirabulak-Ziaetdin region. Corresponds to the Nanay Gr (complex), Aytym Fm and Knyazbulak Fm (444; 445; 458).
